I need your help....

Next weekend, my boyfriend and I are walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it's a 3 day, 60 mile walk to raise money for breast cancer research. All money raised benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure and The National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

I'm walking in memory of my mother. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 1997; two weeks after her 40th birthday. She fought for 10 long years and lost the battle in June of 2007. She was the strongest woman I will ever know and I feel that's it's my duty to do whatever I can to help find a cure for this terrible disease!

The walk is now a little less than a week away and we still have some money to raise. I am hoping that my new friends in blog world will be able to help! I know times are tough now with the current economic situation, but if you can spare a few dollars to help a good cause, please go to www.the3day.org/goto/jenniferbednar. Every dollar counts. Also, if anyone would be willing to post a link on their blog, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks for reading!

A Bit Overdue

Wow. Almost a month since my last post! Time really flies! This past month has been a bit crazy. I was on vacation for a week (cruise to New England and Canada) and have been working long hours (oh the joys of being an accountant).

I do promise a nice picture filled post this weekend! I have lots of stuff to share....a little about my vacation, my current projects, and some new purchases! So be sure to check back on Sunday!

Show and Tell!

Now, let me just start by saying that my favorite part of crafting is show and tell! I love showing others the projects I'm working on and also seeing their progress as well. So, I decided to share some of my pictures on this rainy Saturday afternoon.

First, I'll start with some completed stamping projects. This is a welcome sign I made. It's one of my favorite creations.

The next picture is last year's Christmas card. It was a rather time consuming project, but I was really pleased with the results.

This is a cross stitch project that I finished recently. My dad made a frame for it...I just have to find the time to put it all together.

Here are a few of my current projects. The first is a cross stitch project called "Fruit Smoothie" by Blue Ribbon Designs. This project is so fun to work on! The colors are fantastic!

The next is called "Peace Love and a Cure" by Lizzie Kate. I'm a huge supporter of breast cancer research, so I just had to have this project. All proceeds from the sale of the pattern were donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

And last, but certainly not least, is my current quilting project. Now, let me just say that I have yet to finish a quilt top. I decided in May that I'd like to learn how to quilt. So, I read lots of online tutorials, pulled out my mom's old sewing machine, and got started. My first few attempts were mainly just for practice. I finally feel comfortable enough to make a real quilt. So, here is a picture of the 24 blocks I've made so far. They were made using "Portugal" charm squares by Moda.

So, now that I shared some of my pictures, it's time to go work on these unfinished projects!

My First Post

Well, after lots of procrastination, it's finally time to start my own blog.

A little about me....
I'm a 26 year old accountant living near Philadelphia. My job drives me crazy on a regular basis, but at least it pays the bills. In my ideal world, I'd be able to use my crafting skills to earn a living. Until then, I guess I'll have to continue crafting as a hobby. I enjoy cross stitch, crocheting and stamping...and my newest endeavour is quilting.

I plan to use this blog to share photos and stories about my projects with other craft lovers...and hopefully make a few new friends along the way.
